Welcome & Introduce

Hello! My name is Sasa Katsuhiro!

I am a skillful and highly organized engineer with BEng (Hons) in the Electronic Engineering awarded by Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in 2022 and currently a PhD student in the field of Medical Technology based at Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) funded by NTU from October 2022 after skipping a master's degree. I have over 10 years of business experience before becoming a student and worked in four different countries, including the UK.

My business experience includes software development to automate the database operations, in addition to my previous experience as an infrastructure engineer designing, building, operating and maintaining servers/network infrastructure.

In the lectures, labs and projects at NTU, I have gained a broad range of engineering skills and insight into a field of computer vision through research in the object detection and the image classification using machine learning in the summer placement and the final year project, respectively, in addition to the technical competencies and knowledges required in the latest engineering fields such as IoT devices, sensors, and VLSI / FPGAs.

I am uniquely qualified for your team, not only given my knowledge and abilities, but also my solid background built within several industries in several countries. With more than ten-year business experience in a variety of working environment mainly as an Infrastructure Engineer #

at the systems integration companies, I am adept at working as a member of a team consisting of people having different cultural backgrounds. My experience has allowed me to hone my considerable number of skills that will no doubt be of great value to your team.

My expertise can be classified into 6 categories:

  • Coding Skill
  • Circuit Design
  • Object Detection w/ M.L.
  • Network Design
  • 3D Modeling
  • Servers Configurations

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate working on a 3-year project developing a smart wearable dressing with nano-printed sensors for patients with chronic wounds. The project is run by Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham University Hospital, and a partner company.

What I do?

Here are some of my expertise

Coding

As an infrastructure engineer, I’ve developed many tools and software to automate the routine jobs and to proactively detect sings of system and network failure in C, bash, zsh, vbs, and bat. I also have a strong coding skill in Python, not only for the automation tools and software, but also for the sensor control.

Machine Learning

I developed a practical object detector by webcam inference using a machine learning techniques for 10 electronic components such as resistor and capacitor. The model is trained with 2000+ images on Convolutional Neural Network, and the Single Shot Multibox Detection method is employed for a realtime detection.

3D Modelings

I worked for a team as a technical specialist to design the aeroponic equipment for the vertical farming. I took a responsibility to make a 3D model of the equipment in Fusion 360 including sizing a battery power and to simulate for the robustness on the stress and displacement.

Electronic Circuits

I worked for a team as a technical specialist for the design competition on the theme of water sanitation. For the circuit design, I took a responsibility to design the circuit between Raspberry Pi, solenoid valve, and water flow meter to make the system interactive depending on the water usage.

TCP/IP Network

I am highly skilled in the L2-L3 network design and configurations with the Cisco products as well as monitoring and trouble shooting for the systems on the educational institutions and public offices. I also have a plenty hands-on experience in the firewall configurations and a load balancing for the distributed web servers.

Servers

From the blade server systems to the small single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi, I have an extensive knowledge to design and configure scalable server systems for the web, mail, VoIP, proxy, DNS, and authentication services in the mixed-OS environment with Windows, Red Hat, and Cent OS operating system. Also, not only for the physical systems, I have a practical knowledge and experience to migrate physical server systems to the virtual environment using VMware products.
